Description of the program:

 Stickies are desktop notes that will help you to remind important things
to do. The notes are fully sizeable and include a roll-up function to occupy less space
on the desktop. To control your notes there will be an icon at the lower right hand
corner of the screen (where the clock normally displays).

1. Functions of each note:

a) In the upper left hand corner of the note there is a yellow button which will bring
   up a menu when you click on it.

- Alarm:
  When you click on 'alarm' a window will show up which allows you to select a date
  for an alarm (click on 'Date' to get a calendar) and to input a time for the alarm.
  You can also specify a certain number of minutes that the alarm will ring earlier
  (than the selected alarm time).

- set on top/not on top:
  Selecting 'set on top' will keep the note on top of all other windows; 'not on top'
  will reset this function.

- set size as default:
  selecting this function will set the default size for new notes to the size of
  the current note.

b) Note size:

- The notes are fully sizeable. The text each note can hold is limited to 2000 characters.

- All notes have a roll-up feature (the second from right button in the upper right
  hand corner). Clicking this button when then arrow points up will size the note so
  that only the title is visible. Clicking the button when the arrow points down will
  restore the size to it's original value.

c) Deleting notes:

- The button in the upper right hand corner of the note is used to delete the note.

  Caution: You can change the default settings so that you won't be prompted after
           you clicked the delete button. In this case the note will immediately be
           deleted!

2. Functions of the small, yellow icon in the lower right hand corner of the screen:
   (on the right side of the taskbar, where normally the clock displays)

- double-clicking the icon will bring up the 'about' screen (information about the
  author and the version).

- clicking with the right mouse button on it will bring up a menu where you can select
  following functions:

  a) 'about stickies' will bring up the 'about' screen (information about the author
     and the version).

  b) 'settings' will allow to you to change the general settings:
	- foreground and background color of the notes
	- font and fontsize of the notes
	- german or english language
	- a wave file to play at alarm time (three sound files are supplied with
	  Stickies)
	- repeat the soundfile continuously at alarmtime (instead of playing it
	  only once).
	- confirm every delete action.

	  Caution: If the 'confirm delete' checkbox is not checked, notes will
		   be immediately be deleted without further confirmation!

  c) 'hide all'/'show all' will enable you to hide or show all notes with one mouse
     click.

  d) 'save all' will save all of the settings you selected from the settings window
     and also save all your notes, position and size of notes, windowstate of notes
     (rolled-up or not, hidden or visible, alarms, etc.)

     Note: On exit of the application all settings will also be saved.

  e) 'new' will generate a new note - with the background and foreground colors,
     font and fontsize you selected. If you have specified a default size for the
     notes (see 1a above) the note will be exactly that size.

  f) the first time you start Stickies, you will see a line 'no Stickies' below the
     'new', indicating that there are no notes stored. Once you add a note, the title
     of the note will be displayed in the menu (up to 30 characters). When you add
     more notes the menu will grow and contain all the titles of your notes.
     Clicking in the menu on one of the titles of the notes will hide the note on the
     screen and the item in the menu is not checked anymore; clicking again on the
     item in the menu will show the note again and the item in the menu will be checked
     indicating that it is visible.

   g) 'Exit' will exit the application and save all notes and other settings.
