                             INTRODUCTION

Bong is a ShareWare animation player/screensaver for Windows.  Bong 
uses script files to display FLC and FLI animation, and DIB, RLE, 
and BMP image files.  FLI and FLC animations are widely available on 
local BBS's, the Internet, Compuserve, and other online services.  

                            NEW USER HINTS

Bong comes with a default script, BONG.AAS.  This script can 
be used without modification.  It can also be edited with Bong to 
cut and paste animations and images. You can also change the duration, 
add transition fades, and more.  The ability to create custom scripts 
is easily learned, and is well worth the short time you will spend to 
master it.  The best way to learn how to use the script editor is to 
fool around with it for a few minutes.  Try double-clicking on the [..] 
symbol in the directories listbox of the script editor to navigate 
around on your hard drive.  Play with the buttons.  With a little 
experimentation, you should be able to add MID and WAV sound files to 
your scripts, provided you have a sound card that supports general 
midi (most do).  If you have a CD-ROM drive, you can also play CD audio 
from a script.   There are two additional script files MIDI.AAS and 
CDAUDIO.AAS to help get you started.  They require the Windows MCI 
sequencer and MCI CD audio drivers to be installed.  MIDI.AAS expects 
the file C:\WINDOWS\CANYON.MID to be on your hard drive.  CDAUDIO.AAS 
expects to find an audio CD in the CD-ROM drive.  If you need more 
help, try asking around on the ASOFT forum on Compuserve.  If there 
is enough interest, We'll try to add online help in future versions of 
Bong.
