------------------------------------------------------------------------ Subject: Problems/Questions regarding the ISDN module for ZOC From : Markus Goemmel ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- COMPATIBILITY -- With this version of ZOC you receive a copy of my ISDN driver which integrates itself neatly into ZOC and allows communication through many available ISDN boards. AVM, Bintec, Creatix, Diehl, Elsa, NCP, IBM und Teles are tested and are known to work. Others are probably working too, the main problem is the availability of CAPI drivers for your operating system. -- HOW TO USE THE ISDN-MODULE (DEVISDN.DLL/DEVISDN2.DLL) -- OS/2: If your ISDN board and it's CAPI.DLL (V1.1) or CAPI20.DLL (V2.0) was installed correctly, the entry ISDN or ISDN CAPI 2.0 will appear in the device list in ZOC (options->settings->device). If ZOC does not show this entry, it is most likely that there is a configuration problem with your board's CAPI.DLL (eg. that the directory where the CAPI.DLL is located is missing from the LIBPATH statement in your CONFIG.SYS). WINDOWS 95 und NT: When running Windows, only CAPI 2.0 is supported (CAPI 1.1 is 16 bit technology and cannot be used from an 32 bit DLL). This means, that the German national version of ISDN (1TR6) not supported (because it is no longer implemented in CAPI V2.0). On Windows 95 there are two ways of accessing ISDN: Either via CAPI2032.DLL (if supplied by the board manufacturer) or via ACOTEC drivers (shipped with Windows). The ACOTEC drivers mount ISDN boards as network adaptors and map them to a CAPI2032.DLL style interface. Both ways should work with ZOC. Successfully tested are Teles' Dual- CAPI V3.17 (which can be downloaded from Teles' software server [important: you also need their VCAPID.VXD update]), Teles' CAPI V3.20 and ACOTEC's CAPI2032.DLL. But there seems to be a problem with the Teles CAPI and the PNP32 sound card. Unfortunately, ACOTEC currently does not offer drivers for Windows-NT. Therefore you can only use boards, which ship their own CAP2032.DLL. Drivers from ELSA are currently (10/96) beta but already work well. NT drivers from Teles are planned for the first quarter in 1997. You will find additional information regarding the ISDN module in ZOC at options->device->ISDN-device->options->help. EmTec's Internet web resources point to links to ISDN resources on the net (offering latest drivers and other information). -- ORDERS OF DEVISDN.DLL -- To order DEVISDN, start ZOC and open the order form in the help menu. If you order you will receive a license code which will unlock all future versions of DEVISDN.DLL. PLEASE DO NOT ORDER IF YOU COULD NOT SUCCESSFULLY WORK WITH THE EVALUATION VERSION OF THE DEVISDN MODULE. THE LICENSE CODE WILL NOT CURE CONFIGURATION PROBLEMS, IT WILL ONLY TURN OF THE ORDER FORM AFTER ISDN ZMODEM TRANSFERS. -- DEVISDN.DLL AND ELSA ANALOG -- When using the B2-protocol ELSA ANALOG (available with some boards from Elsa GmbH) now the ZOC->Device->Accept-Calls function should work correctly. The Send-Break function is not supported by ELSA which means, that it is not available in this mode. Markus G”mmel (m.goemmel@compulab.de)
