MORPHINE 4.0 by / UTAH USER'S GUIDE DISCLAIMER: Exporting this, or using it for the Wrong purposes, is what you do... I hold no responsibility for anything. þ1þ MORPHINE? Yea.. Morphine. Morphine is based on a private key encryption method. You have a key. This key may be a combination of up to 512 characters, from any of the 255 ASCII characters. The key is not shown as normal characters, but as the 'þ' symbol. Morphine's security contains many security features, such as various methods of encryption. Morphine en/decrypts ANY file (exe, com, gif.... ect). Morphine also leaves no trace of it's encryption... (no signature, or mark) Morphine also includes a SHRED option described later in this doc. If someone knows the password, they must also know the method of en/decryption, how many times it was en/decrypted, and it was en/- decrypted by Morphine. Morphine is VERY user friendly, and is also ERROR PROOF!!! (You can't really crash this program... If somthing goes wrong, Morphine's status bar is updated to keep you informed of all activity). þ2þ Why use Morphine? I use it. I trust it. Other encryption programs aren't friendly... They might give you a error w/o explination, leaving you pissed off because you thought you had the best. Not here... Other encryption programs may not write information correctly, take longer and they don't have any security features like password re-entry for confirmation. They just don't look good*... anyway... Morphine IS the top of the line private key crypt system. Weather you're in the marines fighting WWIII, or at home sending E-Mail, or hiding files, Morphine's the only way to go. þ3þ Using it Using it is pretty self explanitory. A 3 year old could encrypt a hard drive. That's how simple it is. Compatibillity... Morphine 4.0 is NOT compatible with previous beta versions, but is compatible on the DOS, & OS/2 platforms and will continue to be compatible with any other release versions; soon to be compatible with Unix, and other OS systems. Using it.. You are first prompted for a input filename, and then for an out- put filename. Then comes the password. enter it. Don't worry, the keys you press wil not be echoed to the screen. The password is case sensitive. Make it somthing you'll remember, and DON'T write it down anywhere. Now you have the options screen. Here it is... OPTIONS : VERIFY :A good option to use for making sure you information is correctly written and encrypted... You are safer, but pay a price in speed. ENCRYPT DECRYPT:This option should be changed accordingly depending on your crypt If you are Encrypting, select encrypt by hitting 'E' on your key- board. If you are Decrypting, hit 'D' for the decrypt option. SHRED :Shredding the file!!! Ok.. if you're en/decrypting a file and you don't want any trace of it left on your computer, simply shred it EXPLINATION OF SHREDDING: When you delete a file the computer deosn't really delete it. It just modifies the FAT table and your file is still on disk. That's how undelete programs work, they just Change the FAT tabel, and the file has re-appeared.. !!!! Shredding Writes '0's into the file several times before deleteing it, so if it is undeleted, or retreived all you have is a shit load of 0's which isn't that usefull today CRYPT :By hitting 'C', the crypting process will begin, giving you your status of your encryption (the current time, percent complete...) The estimated time is a little jummpy though sience it's based on the bytes/sec, and the bytes/sec can change dramatically. QUIT :Hitting 'Q' will abort the program and exit. þ4þ Future Versions Ohhhh Ahhhhhh... Ok Because of 'HYPE' for Morphine, I released V4.0 early... it's bug proof (there was '4' beta versions, hey, it's more than I can say for Windows95). In the next version, I'll incluse the following : þ A new dos version, & a windows version þ Anti-Key-Capture support þ Boot Sector & FAT Encryption þ Wildcard support þ Unix & other OS Versions þ Anything else you E-mail to me Remember, if you export this, you are doing somthing illegal, but i don't care what you do as long as it deosn't affect me.
